Canvas Support Transition from Canvas Chat
To better manage incoming requests and streamline responses, our Support team will be transitioning completely to our ticketing portal, Zendesk, starting after the Release on 1/18/2023. At that time, the option to chat Canvas Support via in app chat will be sunset and no longer available. Click here for instructions on how to submit a support ticket to Zendesk.
User Interface
Customers have had the ability to test out this feature in their non-production environments for the month of December, in order to provide feedback and allow for user training. With the January 18th, 2023 release, we will be enabling this feature on all production environments.
This new feature improves the scheduling workflow on both the schedule view and patient chart by creating a uniform experience through a new scheduling modal. This include the addition of an appointment icon on both the patient chart and schedule view. Improvements have also been made to the number of providers that can be scheduled at the same time for a patient, whether sequential, as add-ons, or even across multiple days. On the backend, improvements have been made to our availability logic, the relationship between these multiple appointments in the `appointment model`, follow-up commands, entered in error action, and overall performance. These enhancements take into account structured and unstructured reason for visits configuration, availability inputs through our Google Calendar API, and workflows from configurable note types.
Some customers may automatically see follow-up appointment notification(s) on a patient’s chart, this was intentionally done to capture all “pending” appointments within a patient’s chart that were never booked. We want to make sure no “pending” appointments were lost during this transition, users can easily select Remove within the follow-up appointment pop-up if the appointment is not needed.
Search within Lab Results
This feature adds a search bar to the lab reports panel that appears when you click the labs icon on the top right of a patient chart. Entering a query will filter down the results and only display matching lab reports. Fields that are searched include the name of the lab report (for example "Complete blood count and complete metabolic panel"), the name of the lab tests (for example "Complete blood count"), the names of the lab values, (for example "WBC" or "Hemoglobin") as well as any comments that a user has attached to the lab report.
Add navigation bar to patient details page
Rather than redirecting a user between the patient chart and patient profile when a user clicks on the patient header on the registration/patient chart pages, a navigation bar has been added above the patient header. This allows users to easily copy patient name and phone number information from the patient header when needed, while still providing the ability to navigate between the patient chart and patient profile. The Registration dropdown option has also been removed from the patient header ellipsis so that users can easily navigate between both view from the navigation bar.
Fixed edit date for admin documents
A previous release that had fixed the ability to edit lab reports details had broken the ability to edit the date for admin documents. This release allows users to successfully edit the date for an administrative document.
Store and utilize "status" of lab values from Health Gorilla
When Canvas receives lab values from Health Gorilla (for example, "Sodium 137"), Health Gorilla also conveys a status (such as "preliminary", "final", etc.). Previously, Canvas did not store or use this information. Now, Canvas stores this information in the database on the labvalue model. In addition, we use this status to determine which lab value to display, in the rare even that Health Gorilla sends us multiple results for a single value, each with a different status. For example, if Health Gorilla sent us a lab report for sodium with value "WILL FOLLOW" and status "preliminary", as well as a separately value for sodium with value "137" with status "final", then Canvas will identify the most up to date status (in this case final) and display the associated value (in this case 137).
Removes Sorting Functionality from Label Column in Tasks
When in the panel task view, clicking on the Label column to sort it resulted in an error and the table data disappearing. We removed the ability to sort this column since it typically has multiple values. The filters should be used to help find tasks with specified labels.
