FAQ:
Q: When I refill a medication previously entered as free text, I am unable to send the prescription to the pharmacy electronically.
A: A medication that has been entered with free text is an unstructured medication. For safety, only structured medications can be sent electronically. You may print or save the prescription and use alternative means for communication to the pharmacy.
Q: I made a mistake, how do I remove this command?
A: Commands can be entered in error, but not deleted. Please review the Entering a Command in Error document for directions.
Q: How do I print this command?
A: A command can be printed by using the triple dot menu to the right of the command and selecting the print option.
Step by Step:
- Begin this process in an open note of the patient chart.
- Type "medication statement" or "med" into a blank line within the note.
- Select command by pressing Enter on the keyboard.
- Begin typing the desired medication and dosage.
NOTE: Medications and dosages are populated using a third-party database. If the medication you are looking for is not available, you may use free text.
- Enter in the instructions (route & frequency) reported by the patient in SIG. Field has a 255 character limit.
- Select RECORD to submit the data to the patient's chart. The Medication is immediately visible on the left-hand side of the chart under Medications.
Enter Command in Error:
- Click on the triple dot menu to the right of the command
- Select Enter in Error.
- Re-enter the command with correct information.
